About The Position

Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS), an outpatient private mental health group practice, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its team of Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. The practice provides comprehensive, collaborative, and compassionate care through a mix of office-based outpatient services and telepsychiatry. The Nurse Practitioner diagnoses and assesses patients with psychiatric-mental health conditions, prescribes medications, develops integrated healthcare treatment plans, and manages patient care through evaluation and follow-up.

Requirements

Hold a current and valid license to practice in California.
Hold an NPI.
Have full prescription authority.
Maintain current D.E.A. licensure.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience in a behavioral health setting or demonstrated equivalent experience; preferred but not required.
Bilingual Spanish; highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and provide ongoing medication management and therapy for new and existing patients.
Conduct initial in-person and telemedicine psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and monitoring visits.
Renew and refill medications to the best of their ability to avoid lapses in treatment.
Educate patients about disease processes and provide guidance on preventative practices for managing acute and chronic conditions.
Provide education, assistance, and support to family members and others involved with patients to increase awareness of mental and emotional illness and support the rehabilitation process.
Develop appropriate integrated healthcare treatment plans and provide effective patient-care management, evaluation, and follow-up.
