About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for its detox and residential treatment facility in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The role provides medical care and monitoring for clients receiving substance-use-disorder treatment, helping stabilize patients so they can engage fully in treatment. The Nurse Practitioner develops individual treatment plans, manages medications and orders, reviews test results, coordinates care with medical and clinical teams, and maintains thorough documentation.

Requirements

• Unrestricted NP certification valid in Virginia.
• Valid state medical license.
• Federal DEA certification.
• Strong observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for clients throughout treatment.
• Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to engage fully in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders and create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; review and address UDS and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
