About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner will provide preventive and primary health care services to patients within the scope of their licensure and training, collaborative practice agreement, and Northwest Health Services credentialing and privileging policies. This role involves working cooperatively with providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates to achieve organizational goals and objectives. The position requires accurate and timely completion of medical records, correct coding of services and diagnoses, and participation in quality improvement and community health initiatives. Compliance with HIPAA is mandatory. Essential functions include efficiently providing healthcare services, physically assisting patients as needed, assessing, treating, and diagnosing a wide variety of patients, utilizing evidence-based instruments and critical thinking skills, and communicating effectively with patients and staff. Basic computer skills, light typing, and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team are also required. The role demands maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Requirements

  • Licensure and certification as advance practice nurse in applicable specialty.
  • BLS certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License, and proof of insurance for personal vehicle used for business.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, react, stand, kneel and lift.
  • Must comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, and speak cautiously.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates to carry out the goals and objectives of NHS according to governing body requirements and established internal policies and procedures.
  • Treat others respectfully whether it is a patient, fellow employee, member of management, customer, vendor or visitor to our premises.
  • Provide preventive and primary health care services to patients within scope of licensure and training, collaborative practice agreement and Northwest Health Services credentialing and privileging policies.
  • Complete medical records accurately and timely.
  • Code services and diagnoses correctly.
  • Participate in Northwest Health Services quality improvement activities, including peer review.
  • Participate in Northwest Health Services community health improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Northwest Health Services scheduled provider staff meetings.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Provide health care services efficiently in a health care environment, physically assist patients as needed, exhibiting fine motor skills, precise eye/hand coordination, walk, talk, hear, see, kneel, lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Assess, treat, and diagnose a wide variety of patients/clients with accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency at an advanced professional level.
  • Utilize evidence based instrument to assist in the treatment of clients.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to interpret a variety of complex situations.
  • Communicate with patients and office staff with tact and patience utilizing good communication skills.
  • Possess cognitive skills necessary to understanding terminology, medical records, instructions, and problem solve.
  • Be able to talk, hear, react, stand, kneel and lift.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Possess light typing skills, computer knowledge helpful. Must demonstrate accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency.
  • Perform effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
