About The Position
TK Health Clinics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide on-site patient care at the Cass County Jail in Harrisonville, Missouri. With a commitment of just 4 hours per week at $85 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced provider looking to supplement an existing practice, maintain additional clinical hours, or explore correctional healthcare without taking on a large time commitment. Correctional medicine offers a unique opportunity to use a broad range of clinical skills while providing essential healthcare to an underserved adult patient population. Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license
- Appropriate authorization to practice in Missouri
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently within established clinical protocols
- Ability to successfully complete a thorough background investigation
Nice To Haves
- Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
- Conducting patient evaluations and follow-up visits
- Ordering and reviewing appropriate diagnostic testing
- Prescribing medications and developing treatment plans within scope of practice
- Managing common chronic conditions
- Responding to clinical concerns identified by the nursing team
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation
- Collaborating with nursing staff and TK Health medical leadership
- Following established clinical protocols and correctional healthcare standards
