About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner will perform advanced clinical review of employee medical records, including complex Fitness for Duty, FMLA, and medical qualification cases. Provide clinical recommendations, manage complex case reviews, document findings, and support TSA medical operations through reporting, customer service, and medical record management. The Nurse Practitioner is expected to wear approved professional clothing appropriate to the environment while on duty. Footwear will be closed-toe, flat-bottom, and completely cover the feet; fluid resistance and non-slip soles are preferred.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • National Background Check with Inquiries, Fingerprints, and Drug Screen.
  • Fully trained, licensed/certified, and qualified under Virginia industry requirements.
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required.
  • At least 5 years of direct relevant experience in occupational health, employee case management, and medical review, including FFD and medical exam records.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluid resistance and non-slip soles for footwear are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate complex medical qualification cases and questionnaires.
  • Assess Fitness for Duty (FFD), FMLA, and employee medical examination records.
  • Request, interpret, and review additional medical documentation.
  • Provide advanced clinical recommendations regarding medical clearance and qualification.
  • Document clinical findings and maintain comprehensive case records.
  • Manage complex case reviews consistent with Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
  • Provide customer service and communicate with employees and applicants regarding medical requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and securely manage medical records.
  • Support EEO and litigation-related medical documentation requests.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and prepare required reports.
  • Provide surge staffing support during periods of increased workload.
