About The Position

Provide comprehensive neurological diagnostic and treatment services for patients with acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with physician(s) to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, education, and ongoing management while following established clinical protocols and collaborative practice agreements.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner education program.
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Georgia.
Prior outpatient clinical experience is required.
Current DEA license with prescriptive authority.
Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning, and patient education skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Neurology experience is preferred; however, the practice is flexible regarding the candidate's specialty background.
Two years of Neurology experience preferred.
Allscripts experience preferred.
Experience performing Baclofen Pump refills preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret patients' medical history, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to determine appropriate diagnoses.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
Initiate appropriate therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examinations.
Interpret diagnostic and laboratory findings and modify the plan of care according to the collaborative practice agreement and established protocols.
Prescribe medications, including appropriate dosages, routes, and frequencies, based on each patient's individualized treatment plan.
Counsel patients regarding medication regimens, potential side effects, drug interactions, and appropriate use.
Perform clinical procedures, including Baclofen Pump refills.
Provide patient and family education regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, medications, and management of chronic illnesses.
Consult with physicians as established by the collaborative practice agreement.
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess, monitor, and treat disease progression.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Advocate for patients and families while supporting patient rights, safety, and quality of care.
Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
