About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions. The role involves providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. This position specifically sees ambulatory follow-up patients in the cardiac arrhythmia service, including patients with arrhythmias, pacemakers, ICDs, and pre/post-procedure patients. The clinic time will consist of 6 sessions per week with built-in administrative time.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] required
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner 0-1 year preferred
  • Cardiology Experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Sees ambulatory follow up patients in the cardiac arrythmia service.
