About The Position

Washington Regional's Walker Heart Institute is currently seeking a full-time Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider, to join a well-established high-volume practice. Walker Heart is comprised of 7 Interventional Cardiologists, 2 Electrophysiology Cardiologists, 1 General Cardiologist, 3 CV Surgeons and 19 Advanced Practice Providers. The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence in a strong health system which offers full practice support with a large referral base from 200+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Nurse Practitioner License and CPR, required.
  • National certification, required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests.
  • Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications.
  • Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records.
  • Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors.
  • Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics.
  • Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects.
