About The Position

Copper Hills Youth Center is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide onsite, non-emergent medical care for adolescents in their residential programs. This role involves providing low acuity medical care and admissions H&Ps in an independent practice within a structured, collaborative residential environment. The position offers weekday-only work with part-time or full-time flexibility and is primarily an onsite role with limited on-call responsibilities. The facility is a 197-bed adolescent residential treatment center serving populations with mood disorders, trauma, autism spectrum, substance abuse, and chemical dependency, utilizing a trauma-informed, phase-based treatment model.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active Utah APRN license (or ability to obtain).
  • 1–2 years post graduate clinical experience preferred (primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, or adolescent health).
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
  • Comfort working with adolescent behavioral health populations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide low acuity medical care and admissions H&Ps.
  • Independent practice within a structured, collaborative residential environment.
  • Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries (rashes, infections, ingrown toenails, common illnesses).
  • Complete medical histories and physicals for new admissions.
  • Prescribe medications within scope.
  • Order and review labs and X rays as needed.
  • Identify conditions requiring outside care and coordinate referrals.
  • Collaborate with clinical and residential staff.
