About The Position

Spectrum Health Systems is seeking an independent practice Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult, or Emergency) to support the care of adult patients in our outpatient opioid treatment programs. The Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Medical Provider is responsible for being in charge of all medical aspects of patient care in the OTP including admission assessment, medication initiation, dosing adjustments, medication side effects and withdrawal management. They will also coordinate care with the patient’s community providers for patients with medical conditions that impact treatment, such as pregnancy, hepatitis, cardiac and pulmonary disease, perioperative pain treatment, and others that arise during the course of treatment. The role involves working independently with support from the Chief Medical Officer and other members of the medical team, and serving as part of the multidisciplinary team caring for the patients.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner or higher level of education
  • Current CPR certificate or obtains certification within 90 days of hire required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experiencing in treating opioid use disorders is preferred but not required—we provide training and ongoing support
  • Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel preferred
