Nurse Practitioner (NP)- Part-Time
About The Position
The Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner to join their team in the Medical Department. This role involves delivering compassionate and quality medical care to assigned residents, working in coordination with other healthcare team members. Key responsibilities include examining residents, providing care in various settings (subacute, long term, rehab, outpatient), assisting with patient/family education, and modifying care plans as needed, including maintaining proper documentation. Parker Jewish Institute is a non-profit healthcare facility offering inpatient programs and community health services.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
- Active license as an NP in New York State, with prescriptive privileges
- NYS Board Certified is required
- Proficient in SigmaCare or another EMR (Electronic Medical Record) software
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a sub-acute or long term care facility
- Prior experience with the geriatric population is a plus
Responsibilities
- Examining residents and delivering quality care in varied settings including subacute, long term, rehab and outpatient care
- Assisting in resident/patient/family education
- Re-examining, re-evaluating and modifying care plans as necessary
- Maintaining proper documentation in resident charts
