Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
Advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. Nurse blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions patients. Position practices within a framework of holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. Practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. Provides clinical assessment and treatment strategies that reflect in-depth knowledge of the care populations.
Requirements
- One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion
- Three (3) full-time years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search (required for interview)
Nice To Haves
- 2 - 3 years experience as a Primary Care Nurse or Nurse Practitioner preferred
