About The Position

This position provides generalized healthcare services to clinic patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably including experience in a clinical setting.
  • Registered nurse (RN) and nurse practitioner (NP) licenses.
  • Knowledge of common medical conditions and chronic disease management.
  • Knowledge of general pharmacology.
  • Knowledge of preventative medicine.
  • Ability to positively and effectively represent the organization.
  • Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • Ability to perform duties skillfully and effectively.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment health and background screening.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate within approved protocols for health management of acute and chronically ill patients.
  • Meet with patients in a clinic setting.
  • Identify health status by taking medical histories, performing examinations, and evaluating test results.
  • Initiate and evaluate screening and diagnostic procedures.
  • Assess the health status of each patient and initiate appropriate therapeutic intervention.
  • Provide patients with comprehensive information to allow for informed decision-making.
  • Determine which cases to refer to a physician for further diagnosis and treatment.
  • Serve as a clinical consultant to nursing and paramedic personnel.
  • Coordinate with the patient care team to develop treatment plans.
  • Assess and report on patient progress.
  • Keep current and accurate records.
  • Interact professionally with the patient and the patient’s family or representatives.
  • Consider patient cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors.
  • Respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
