Under the general administrative direction of the Medical Director and the direction of the supervising physician for patient care issues, this role involves providing annual health examinations, routine follow-up and evaluation, and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems of patients. The Nurse Practitioner will assist in the care of specific patients, provide diagnostic assessment and therapeutic services to ill or injured patients, initiate and arrange consultations and referrals, and promote cooperation and open communication with patients, employees, physicians, administrators, and other personnel within and outside the hospital. Additionally, the role includes providing clinical training and education to staff of Primary Care Internists, interacting with agencies like the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice for comprehensive patient care, teaching and counseling patients, and communicating with out-patients. The position also requires performing all duties to meet patient needs, other assigned work, and consistently providing service excellence.
