About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for weekend work at its South Bend, Indiana facility. The role provides medical care to people receiving drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The Nurse Practitioner develops individualized medical treatment plans, monitors clients, manages medications, and coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams. The position also includes ordering and reviewing tests and medications, maintaining medical documentation, and managing client appointment schedules.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a medical field and related certifications.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Three to five years of experience in a related clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
- Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and lab orders; and review and address UDS and lab results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
