About The Position

This position involves providing Cardiology services to patients in an outpatient setting, including in-person and virtual medicine within the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine clinic and offsite locations. Key clinical duties include chronic disease management, preventive care, acute care visits, managing a Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) clinic, and medication management. The role requires ensuring compliance with OSUCHS, state, regulatory, and accrediting bodies, as well as organizational policies. Collaboration with Physicians, Nurses, and medical assistants is essential. Accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system is required, with chart closure within 3 days of the encounter date. The Nurse Practitioner will manage an assigned patient panel, including follow-up care, preventive screenings, and service coordination. Standard clinic hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, though hours may vary. Administrative responsibilities include engaging in research programs as opportunities arise and other duties assigned by the Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine, such as community engagement, establishing clinical workflow, committee assignments, and project team meetings.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Familiarity with the EPIC EMR system
  • Required ACLS, BLS
  • Current State License with current DEA, OBNDD
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Leadership skills demonstrated by participation in local, regional, or national NP program.

Responsibilities
