About The Position

CVS Health is hiring a full-time regional Nurse Practitioner to provide clinic-based care at Rancho Bernardo, California, and surrounding HealthHub clinic locations. The role follows a four-day work week: four weekdays one week, then two weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday every other week. Care is primarily delivered in person; virtual visits may be conducted from the clinic when onsite patient volume is lower and virtual care does not interfere with in-person care. Providers practice with clinical and organizational support and are expected to complete charting and follow-up during their scheduled shift. The Nurse Practitioner delivers evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. The role also includes diagnostic testing, preventive counseling, injury and illness treatment, care coordination, wellness services, chronic disease management, preventive screenings, and routine clinic operations. The position requires an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner master's degree, national board certification, and an active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner license. One year of NP experience is preferred, though qualified new graduates may be considered.

Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Current national board certification through AANP or ANCC.
Active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in good standing.
Active, unrestricted state APRN license.
Obtain and maintain multi-state licensure based on business needs.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Complete a DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
Ability to provide holistic, evidence-based care, including counseling related to pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices.
Ability to order and administer vaccines and injections.
Physical presence at the assigned clinic is required.
Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Ability to perform Basic Life Support.

Nice To Haves

One year of Nurse Practitioner experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
Bilingual proficiency may be required depending on market needs.
Experience with the EPIC electronic health record.
Prior MinuteClinic precepting rotation, particularly for applicants with less than one year of provider experience.
Experience conducting patient assessments and exercising sound clinical decision-making in a virtual care environment.
Familiarity with digital health tools and virtual communication technologies.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Provide in-person and virtual visits from the clinic to support positive patient health outcomes.
Perform diagnostic testing, preventive counseling, treatment of injuries and illnesses, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.
Engage patients in wellness services, chronic disease management, and preventive health screenings.
Complete clinic operations, including inventory management, clinic opening and closing, patient follow-up, insurance verification, and payment collection.
Support a safe and efficient care environment through routine examinations and timely patient appointment management.
Provide holistic, evidence-based counseling related to pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices.
Order and administer vaccines and injections, including COVID-19, influenza, TB testing, and Depo-Provera.
