Nurse Practitioner, School-Based, Rising Star Elem. (.4 FTE)

Neighborcare Health Career•Seattle, WA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive health care in support of Neighborcare Health’s goals for quality care, productivity, and patient satisfaction. The role performs independent clinical activities and collaborates with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants as appropriate. The Nurse Practitioner works jointly with other lead team members to advance Neighborcare’s mission, guiding principles, and goals. This school-based position is grant funded and is assigned to Rising Star Elementary. It is 0.4 FTE. The role is on standby during the summer for approximately eight to ten weeks; school-based employees are not paid during this period, whose duration may vary from year to year. The position does not have Medical Assistant support, so the provider performs patient rooming and clinical support tasks in addition to patient care. Some flexibility in work hours may be needed to meet family needs, and work hours may be scheduled throughout a calendar year. Neighborcare Health provides primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care in Seattle, including at school-based clinics. Since 1968, the organization has worked to reduce barriers to care and serves low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and people experiencing homelessness. It cares for nearly 60,000 patients each year at nearly 30 nonprofit clinics. Patients are asked to pay what they can, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
