About The Position

Tanner Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our outpatient Wound Care Team. This role involves providing outpatient wound care services for chronic wounds, including diabetic and surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, arterial and vasculitic ulcers, and any other wound care or hyperbaric oxygen needs. The APP will develop individualized wound care treatment plans and oversee patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner (MSN) or Physician Assistant training.
  • Active GA APRN license or GA Physician Assistant license; must meet criteria for obtaining licensure.
  • Six months of related experience
  • Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia
  • Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN).
  • Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
  • Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria.
  • Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
  • Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Wound Specialist or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
  • Prior nursing experience in wound care preferred.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
  • ACLS recommended.
  • Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient wound care services for chronic wounds to include diabetic and surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, arterial and vasculitic ulcers, and any other wound care or hyperbaric oxygen needs.
  • Develop individualized wound care treatment plans.
  • Oversee patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
  • Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients.
  • Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients.
  • Administer therapeutic procedures.
  • Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
  • Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures.
  • Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies.
  • Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician.
  • Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting.
  • Participates with clinical tracking and feedback.
  • Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care.
  • Works well with others and functions as a team player.
  • Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area.
  • Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff.
  • Assists as needed.
  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
