Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Urogynecology
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN – Master of Science in Nursing, DNP – Doctor of Nursing Practice, or WHNP- Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner).
  • Board Certification.
  • Active or pending, unencumbered licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maine.
  • Active or pending DEA Certification in the state of Maine.
  • Active BLS certification.
  • Maintain continuing education appropriate for scope of practice and licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Primary lead for the longitudinal care of established patients, specifically OAB medication titration, recurrent UTI management, and complex pelvic health follow-ups.
  • Lead provider for established pessary management, including routine checks, cleanings, refits, and monitoring vaginal tissue health.
  • Occasionally conduct shared inpatient rounding for post-operative patients (typically 23-hour patient stays).
  • Lead comprehensive patient education and preoperative teaching.
  • Obtain informed consent for minor procedures.
  • Maintain clinical presence and provider access in the office during all Physician OR days to manage urgent triage and established follow-up volume.
