About The Position

Tanner Health is recruiting a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to join the newest location for Tanner Urgent Care, scheduled to open November 2026 in Sargent, Georgia. The practice is in Sargent, Georgia and requires the ability to treat all ages. Tanner utilizes EPIC EMR system wide and offers excellent clinical, administrative, and management support. Tanner Medical Group is one of the largest physician group practices in metro Atlanta, serving communities across west Georgia and east Alabama with over 400 physicians and advanced practice providers across 34 specialty services. Tanner Health is a five-hospital nonprofit health system dedicated to providing convenient, personalized healthcare with the latest technology and treatment options.

Requirements

Completion of Family Nurse Practitioner or master’s degree from accredited Physician Assistant program
Active GA license or meet criteria for obtaining licensure
Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN).
Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia
Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Must meet credentialing criteria.
Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.

Nice To Haves

Minimum two years of experience as a mid-level required preferred
ACLS recommended.
Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participates in continuing education. Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician.
Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting. Participates with clinical tracking and feedback. Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care.
Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff. Assists as needed.
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
Provides patient services through the performance of patient evaluation, assessment and treatment in the medical office setting as allowed by state licensure laws under the supervision of the medical director. The nurse practitioner works closely with the clinic staff, hospital departments and community agencies.
