About The Position

This role involves providing comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, working closely with physicians and healthcare teams. The Nurse Practitioner will serve as a Surgical First Assist in the Operating Room, performing various surgical procedures. Additionally, the role includes managing the medical-surgical floor, including rounding, progress notes, orders, discharges, and consults. The position requires working with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients and participating in weekday and weekend on-call coverage.

Requirements

• NY State License
• Board Certified in Specialty
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS (AHA or RQI)
• Minimum 2 years recent experience
• Epic Experience Required
• No Residents or Fellows
• NY License in Hand

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, working closely with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Serve as Surgical First Assist in the Operating Room, performing procedures such as wound cauterization, vessel packing, patient positioning, clamp and suture placement, skin closure, hemostasis, and immobilization.
• Manage medical-surgical floor coverage including rounding, progress notes, orders, discharges, and consults.
• Work with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
• Participate in weekday and weekend on-call coverage as scheduled.
