About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner Psych position will provide psychiatric services to the residents of The Thomas B. Finan Center. This position is responsible for establishing medical/psychiatric diagnoses, ordering and planning therapy, assessing and managing minor physical and psychological problems, ordering labs, and providing guidance and instruction in health maintenance and disease prevention in conjunction with physicians, pharmacists, and supporting nursing staff. The Thomas B. Finan Center is an inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Cumberland, Maryland. It is owned and managed by the state of Maryland. This state psychiatric facility operates 88 beds. The Finan Center provides services to persons who are 18 years of age and older. THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO STATE OF MARYLAND EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Requirements
- Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric from the Maryland State Board of Nursing
- Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation)
- Provide the agency with a telephone number at which they can be reached (subject to call-in)
