Nurse Practitioner - Psych (ARNP)
About The Position
Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join their team. As an NP, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. You will coordinate decision-making with the psychiatrist, perform clinical assessments, and develop treatment plans. The team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and educators. The ideal candidate will establish empathy and a person-centered approach, recognize limitations, and respond to challenging situations with skill and professionalism.
Requirements
- Completion of a Master’s Program (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited nursing school.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting
- Comprehensive liability insurance

Responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up visits after initial assessments
- Participate in weekly staffing and family sessions
- Prescribe pharmacologic interventions as necessary
- Review laboratory and diagnostic test results
- Consult with attending psychiatrists and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to perform clinical assessments, adhering to psychiatric and medical nursing procedures
- Communicate with patients, families, and others to obtain required information
