As a Nurse Practitioner/Sub-Investigator in clinical research, you will work closely with the Principal Investigator (MD) and Clinical Research Coordinators to conduct trials. The Nurse Practitioner plays a critical role in the conduct and success of the clinical trial including acting as the Sub-Investigator through clinical assessments of study participants and evaluation of safety assessments. In total, you will oversee the patient's participation throughout the clinical trial to ensure their safety and well-being. The Sub-Investigator role is a great opportunity to network within the medical and pharmaceutical industry, gain reputable research experience, and have fun on a regular basis. Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner or equivalent
- Active North Carolina Medical License (NP, PA, or equivalent) required!
- Immediate availability
- Comfortable with a consistent schedule of 10-20 hours per week - we operate Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm - no weekend availability required!
Nice To Haves
- Previous Clinical Research experience is not required and all training will be provided
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and Evaluating Clinical Trial Protocols
- Performing Physical Examinations
- Performing Study-Specific Medical Assessments
- Assessing Lab Results and Interpreting ECGs
- Ensuring the Clinic Provides an Overall Positive Experience for all Patients
- Learning and Preparing for New Clinical Trials at the Site
- Attending Investigator Meetings (Optional, US based, all expenses paid)
- Assisting in Chart Review/Quality Assurance
- Communicating with Protocol Medical Monitors from the Sponsor
- Conduct patient visits in the absence of the Principal Investigator
- Support site clinical staff (Clinical Research Coordinators, nurses) and provide guidance as needed
