About The Position

Reporting to the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient, and accurate service. This role assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. The Nurse Practitioner mentors clinical personnel and serves as a liaison with patients, staff, providers, and leadership. The position can be performed independently or as part of a treatment team. Requirements

  • Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Graduation with a master’s degree from an accredited advanced nurse practitioner program.
  • Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current licensure as an ARNP in the State of Rhode Island.
  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge of basic emergency department, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures required.
  • Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and staff interactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients and families, clients, coworkers, clinical staff and physicians.
  • Progressive thinking for budget, training and quality issues.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Two years of related experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a medic or within an urgent care or emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests, and prescribe medications for children and adults.
  • Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments.
  • Manage patients who do not require complex medical management or specialized treatment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients.
  • Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age.
  • Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Active participation in the development/review of office polices and procedures.
  • Promotes a safety-conscious work force.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
