About The Position

Horizon is currently looking for preceptor students for the Spring 2027 Semester! This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in your field of study at various settings including outpatient clinics, residential facilities, and inpatient/detox facilities. You will work alongside Horizon's providers and gain experience in psychiatric examinations, medication management, clinical case conferences, and treatment planning.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a NP (Nurse Practitioner) program is required.
• Must not have already completed the program or be currently unenrolled.
• This internship experience must also be a requirement of your degree.
• Must have constant and continuous access to the email used for application.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist initial psychiatric examinations for individuals admitted to mental health, rehabilitation and recovery programs and provide follow up medication management services
• Observe and participate in clinical case conference and case reviews while working with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients
• Assist with treatment planning and the prescribing of psychotropic and/or addiction medication
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge, communication and collaboration
