About The Position

Matrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team of medical professionals to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Pensacola, FL. This role involves reviewing pertinent medical history documentation and providing veterans with these exams. The NP/PA will capture responses through web-based examination forms, with all documentation completed electronically. The completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations. Standard exams include musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory. Ancillaries such as X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, and ABIs may be ordered and conducted on-site or nearby. The facility seeks to ensure appropriate gender representation among staff to accommodate patient choice for same-gender staff during sensitive procedures.

Requirements

• Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for the duration of employment.
• Physician Assistants must hold an active NCCPA certification and remain certified during the duration of their employment.
• Have a master’s degree or successfully completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus.
