About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) for a full-time position in their Urgent Care department. This role involves treating patients with minor illnesses and injuries, aiming for a treat-and-release goal of 2 hours or less. The NP/PA will collaborate with other NPs, PAs, and Attending Physicians. The position requires flexibility, enthusiasm, and a willingness to care for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills are essential. NPs/PAs will work with a high degree of autonomy but will collaborate with the medical director for quality of care and compliance. Prior advanced practice experience is required, with recent experience in acute care, ED, or Urgent Care strongly desired. Applicants must be NYS NP/PA eligible, and new graduates will not be considered. The APP will also participate in the education of learners, including students and new employees, through clinical experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NPs)
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NPs)
• Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
• Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PAs)
• Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PAs)
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PAs)
• Prior advanced practice required.
• NYS NP/PA eligible.
• New graduates will not be considered.
