About The Position

Piedmont Heart Institute is recruiting a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Cardiac Acute Care Services team at Piedmont Eastside. This is a full-time day position with the opportunity to work in one of the nation’s leading cardiology programs alongside respected and highly trained physicians. Piedmont Heart Institute provides cardiovascular services including electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical, and research services. The role involves evaluating and treating cardiology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, including the emergency room and ICU. The provider collaborates with physicians and other Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers. Occasional travel to other sites, including Lawrenceville and Snellville clinics, may be required.

Requirements

A master’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited PA program and National Board Certification; or licensure as a nurse and approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia with national certification.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years of previous cardiology experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, including the ER and ICU.
Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in patient records.
Write progress notes, consults, admissions, and discharge summaries.
Prepare patient workups.
Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as direct patient care services are delivered.
Work collaboratively with physicians and other Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers.
Occasionally travel to other sites, including Lawrenceville and Snellville clinics.
