About The Position

The University of Rochester's Orthopedic Department, Hand Upper Extremity Division is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality care to outpatient urgent hand/upper extremity patients, both pediatric and adult. This position is primarily days and will be located at our new orthopedic building at Marketplace. The role involves collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, APPs, and the healthcare team. While experience is preferred, new graduates will be considered. The position emphasizes strong communication and clinical skills, participation in learner education, and a commitment to the University's values of equity, leadership, integrity, openness, respect, and accountability.

Requirements

Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner OR completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program
Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NPs)
Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NPs)
Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PAs)
Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PAs)
Demonstrate clinical competence
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
Computer competence
Active desire to learn
