About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Express Care clinic in Hayesville, North Carolina. This PRN position is on an as needed basis to cover openings in schedule. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment and be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. In this role, the Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with a wide range of acute, non-life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging, and developing appropriate treatment plans. The provider will prescribe medications as needed, perform minor procedures including wound care, suturing, and splinting, and provide clear patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care. The provider will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination and continuity of care. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record is essential, along with adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and quality guidelines. The role also involves contributing to a supportive team environment and participating in quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance. Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital’s Express Care department provides timely, high-quality care for patients presenting with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in a convenient outpatient setting. The clinic is designed to improve access to care within the community by offering efficient, same-day treatment while reducing unnecessary emergency department visits. The Advanced Practice Provider in this role serves as a key member of the care team, delivering patient-centered medical services to individuals of all ages in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and collaboration with physicians and support staff to ensure continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, and a positive patient experience. Requirements

BSN required; MSN required.
Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
Hold currently or eligible licensure in the state of North Carolina.
Current, unrestricted North Carolina or compact state registered nurse license.
Current North Carolina license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
North Carolina licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-North Carolina residents.
