About The Position

OakLeaf Clinics – Southside Medical Clinic is looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team in Rice Lake! OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare network consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, medical assistants, and support staff working together with laboratory and imaging services to care for communities throughout the Chippewa Valley.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of Wisconsin; certification as an Acute, Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant may be required
  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, if applicable
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin., if applicable
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice, if applicable
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association (If applicable)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association (If applicable)
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
  • A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of disease prevention

Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date with latest evidence-based medicine
  • Prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses and provide treatment
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
  • Gather health histories, perform physical examinations and diagnostic procedures
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Dictate and document all patient interactions
  • Notify managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems
  • Effectively communicate with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families
  • Perform other responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the physician and within NP scope of practice
