Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-HH Digestive Disease Center-PRN
About The Position
The nurse practitioner/physician assistant provides comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examination, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Also, the NP/PA assumes accountability for indirect care responsibilities, which support patient care including staff and student education, clinical research if applicable, program development, and quality improvement. Assists in clerical functions as necessary.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required.
- Current Alabama CRNP or PA license.
- Approval of the Huntsville Hospital credentialing board.
- Maintain ACLS/BLS certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
- Works well with others in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred
