About The Position

Seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a collaborative cardiology team delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care to a rural community. This role encompasses outpatient general cardiology and inpatient consultative services at Jones Memorial Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current New York State licensure and national board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology or acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient setting, including hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and coronary artery disease.
  • Perform inpatient cardiology consultations at Jones Memorial Hospital in collaboration with attending physician
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac monitors.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, fellow APPs, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.
  • Participate in care coordination with primary care providers and specialists across the region.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
