We are seeking an experienced Thoracic Oncology Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support one Thoracic Surgery surgeon as part of a growing surgical oncology program in the East Bay. This role includes a comprehensive mix of outpatient clinic responsibilities, first‑assist duties in the operating room, and inpatient rounding. The APP will also cross‑cover in collaboration with an additional Thoracic Oncology APP and physician at Tri‑Valley Hospital in Pleasanton. Clinical time may be split across regional cancer centers, including Palo Alto, Oakland, and Pleasanton. As this is a newly created position aligned with new physician recruitment and program growth, we are looking for a highly skilled, flexible APP who is enthusiastic about helping build and shape a thoracic oncology surgery program from the ground up. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and motivated by the opportunity to expand access to high‑quality thoracic surgical oncology care in an innovative and patient‑centered way. This is a Stanford Health Care job. The Physician Assistant (PA) functions under this Physician Assistant Job Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the PA and his/her supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, the Credentials & Privileges Committee, the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Committee and the SHC Board Credentials, Policies and Procedures Committee.
