About The Position

Fellowship position for new graduates that have successfully passed the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification process and are seeking dedicated clinical training within a specific field. This position follows the current "scope of practice" for all other Advanced Practice Providers within the Department. The position provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of Practice physicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
  • JOB RELATED CERTIFICATION - COTR
  • CPR CERTIFICATION
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Mathematical skills
  • Patient Equip (Vitals, Suction, Defib)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all medically appropriate clinical pre/post procedure activities, including clinical evaluation and consent, medical histories, and patient care.
  • Communicates information regarding patient care, including procedural orders and notes, care plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Assists physician in relaying treatment plans to nursing personnel, referring physicians and patient/family.
  • Provides technical assistance to physician, when applicable.
  • Assists in Department's quality assurance programs.
  • Participates in patient education.
  • Coordinates clinical research projects, when applicable.
  • Participates in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies and billing opportunities.
