Harbor Health is seeking a team-oriented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PRN) to join their multi-specialty clinic group in Austin, TX. As a clinical leader in a primary care setting, the provider will deliver effective, efficient, and appropriate services to members, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making and expert care. They will collaborate with the clinical practice team to provide exceptional care aligned with the mission of transforming healthcare through a payvider model. The APP will offer acute and urgent care services to members with a wide range of conditions, ensuring timely, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment in an Express Care setting at the Round Rock, North University, and Onion Creek locations. One Saturday per month is required at the Round Rock Express Care location.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas
  • Board certification required (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or a related ambulatory care setting preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
  • Experience working with diverse member populations across age groups
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build trust with members quickly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience in ambulatory care, urgent care, or emergency medicine settings as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat members presenting with acute, urgent, and episodic medical conditions in an Express Care setting
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform thorough physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging as clinically appropriate
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with evidence-based clinical guidelines
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Educate members and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with the broader Harbor Health care team to ensure appropriate referrals, care coordination, and continuity of care
  • Accurately and efficiently document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and credentialing requirements
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, member safety, and clinical quality
  • Maintain flexibility to support clinic operations on a PRN basis as scheduling needs arise
