About The Position

Provides Orthopedic Surgery care to patients as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, acting as an assistant to physicians in the clinic following established standards and practices with minimal supervision. Must be available to participate in hospital call coverage, rounding, and documentation support with orthopedic surgery physician as needed.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • For Nurse Practitioner candidates: New Mexico Registered Nurse license AND current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse recognition through the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
  • For Nurse Practitioner candidates: Family Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner designation.
  • For Physician Assistant candidates: current Physician Assistant license in New Mexico and appropriate certification as required by applicable law and organizational policy.
  • 3 years professional clinical experience in a clinic or hospital setting
