About The Position

We are seeking a Full-Time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. This position is based on the main hospital campus. The Interventional Radiology service operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities. This hire will work collaboratively with a team of Interventional Radiologists while practicing with a high degree of autonomy in the evaluation and management of patients undergoing image-guided procedures. Responsibilities include performing biopsies, paracenteses, thoracenteses, lumbar punctures, and port insertions, as well as providing peri-procedural care and participating in inpatient consults and rounding. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, procedure-oriented provider who is comfortable practicing independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Physician Assistant required
  • Physician Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Demonstrated proficiency performing bedside and image-guided procedures is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Interventional Radiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Hospital Medicine, or another procedural specialty strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
