Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant Extender - Peds Clinic
About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Extender for a pediatric clinic supporting McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. This is a full-time opportunity with benefits offered. The role involves providing a full range of outcome-based provider services, including general screening, medical care, examinations for routine, acute and chronic conditions, immunizations, and diagnosing, treating, and counseling patients. The position also includes providing clinical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, participating in in-service training, diagnosing and treating common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma, and promoting preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
Requirements
- Masters of Social Work degree
- Any active state license to practice as a LCSW
- A minimum of two years full-time experience in care coordination, discharge planning or case management in a medical setting within the last four years
- BLS, ACLS, PEDS certification
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems
- Provide immunizations
- Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated
- Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Provide and participate in in-service training to staff members
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling
