About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a specialty clinical team in Peoria, Arizona. This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand clinical expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology, liver disease, and specialty medicine, while also gaining exposure to clinical research and emerging therapies. Ideal candidates bring at least five (5) years of experience as an NP or PA in hepatology, gastroenterology, or specialty care and are comfortable evaluating patients, developing diagnoses and treatment plans, and managing patients with an appropriate level of independence. Candidates whose primary specialty experience is in surgical care or endocrinology should bring at least six (6) years of experience as an NP or PA, including substantial experience seeing and managing patients independently. Physician Assistants should have experience evaluating and diagnosing patients under the guidance and oversight of a supervising physician as appropriate. New NP or PA graduates may be considered on a limited basis if they bring at least 10 years of prior RN experience in gastroenterology, endocrinology, hepatology, or surgical care. This pathway is intended for new APP graduates who already possess significant specialty clinical experience from their nursing careers. Your day-to-day work will include evaluating patients, conducting consultations and pretreatment reviews, establishing diagnoses, developing treatment plans, providing follow-up care, and educating patients and families. You will collaborate closely with physicians on complex cases while taking ownership of assigned patients throughout their care journey. You will also have exposure to clinical research and emerging therapies. This may include caring for research patients, identifying appropriate therapeutic opportunities, and educating eligible patients about available clinical trials. Monday through Thursday is primarily focused on clinical care, while Friday is structured as a half-day dedicated to charting and administrative work, providing protected time to complete documentation and stay current on clinical responsibilities.
