We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and expanding Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a comprehensive and patient-centered cardiovascular program that continues to grow in both size and scope. This hire will be utilized for as-needed, day-shift coverage on the inpatient team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. The primary need for coverage is on Saturdays; however, this hire will also be able to fill in open 8-hour shifts during the week. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • experience as a nurse practitioner 0-1 year preferred
  • Previous Cardiology experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
  • May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
