About The Position

This position provides comprehensive clinical services including contraceptive methods, medical assessment and management of STI and genito-urinary conditions, wart treatment, gender affirming care, and premenopausal/menopausal services. The role also involves reviewing medical and social histories, performing medical screenings, interpreting lab data, acting as a clinical resource, managing emergencies, and participating in staff meetings. The clinician will contribute to health center productivity and quality standards, demonstrate customer service standards, and may precept students/residents or supervise volunteers/interns.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited FNP or Primary Care PA program for comprehensive primary care centers; graduation from an accredited Women’s Health NP or CNM program is acceptable for limited primary care centers.
  • Current State license
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills appropriate to PPMM clinical duties
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Available to cover at least one evening clinic per week and one Saturday clinic per month, as needed by center
  • Current experience using computer and mouse
  • Experience using a Microsoft Windows based program and willing to learn new computer skills
  • Able to work cooperatively as a member of a health care delivery team

Responsibilities

  • Provides contraceptive methods: contraceptives that are self-administered (no procedure required); Provides/oversees contraceptive injections.
  • Provides emergency contraception
  • Performs medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for all patients
  • Performs wart Treatment
  • Provides gender affirming care
  • Provides premenopausal and menopausal services
  • Reviews & interprets the medical and social history for all sexual and reproductive health patients
  • Performs appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for all sexual and reproductive health patients
  • Interprets laboratory data, orders additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensures appropriate follow-up
  • Acts as a clinical resource to health center staff and ensures high quality clinical care is provided to all patients
  • Manages emergency situations in the health center
  • Participates in staff meetings
  • Contributes to achieving health center productivity and quality standards
  • Demonstrates PPMM customer service standards
  • Assists in other areas of center support work as required
  • Precepts students/residents
  • Works with/supervises volunteers/interns as applicable
  • Performs other duties as assigned
