About The Position

Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Our clinicians diagnose and treat common medical problems including sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections and more. Routine health exams, immunizations, screenings, and wellness services are also provided. ConvenientCare has much to offer, allowing you to live well in both your professional and personal life.

Requirements

Minimum of six months advanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.
Completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program (for PA candidates).
Current NCCPA certification or eligibility (for PA candidates).
Pennsylvania State licensure (for PA candidates).
Certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or eligibility to hold national certification (for NP candidates).
Eligibility for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA (for NP candidates).
Basic Life Support Certification.
Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania).
Care Management Knowledge.
Clinical Policies And Standards.

Responsibilities

Attractive schedule: Office Hours - Monday - Friday 8:45 am – 8:15 pm, Saturday & Sunday 7:45 am – 6:15 pm
14 rotating shifts/month
Work every other weekend
No overnight shifts, and no mandated additional shifts.
Call – approximately six nights per year
No direct patient call – for critical lab, CT, etc.
Six observed holidays - Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
80 CME hours and $3,000 CME funds
