About The Position

Geisinger is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Frackville, PA. At Geisinger, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on your patients’ lives with extended appointment times (40 minutes for medically complex patients, 20 minutes for average complexity and acute care visits), a collaborative care model with physician/APP panel sharing, daily huddles with care team members, and a comprehensive support team. This includes pharmacists for patient education and medication management, care managers, health managers, clinic health associates, coding educators, and a centralized prescription refill team. A nurse call center assists with the on-call workload. Geisinger utilizes Epic EMR (universal across Geisinger) with Ambient dictation and offers expanded access to care through eVisits, patient portals, and Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care clinics.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
  • ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program completion (for Physician Assistant candidates).
  • Current NCCPA certification or eligibility (for Physician Assistant candidates).
  • Pennsylvania State licensure (for Physician Assistant candidates).
  • Certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or eligibility to hold national certification (for Nurse Practitioner candidates).
  • Eligibility for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA (for Nurse Practitioner candidates).
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Care Management Knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • See all age ranges from Pediatric (birth) to Geriatric.
  • Work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician (Physician Assistant).
  • Work in collaboration with the physician (Nurse Practitioner).
  • Provide patient education and medication management.
  • Participate in daily huddles with care team members.
  • Assist with on-call workload via nurse call center.
