About The Position

Premier ER and Urgent Care is a Texas-based hybrid healthcare provider combining 24/7 emergency room services with urgent care. They offer hospital-level equipment and ER-trained staff but bill for the actual level of care needed (ER or Urgent Care), aiming to reduce confusion and costs. This organization pioneered the combined Emergency Room and Urgent Care model, with both services under one roof to help patients determine the best level of care. This model leads to better patient outcomes and provides an efficient and practical work environment for employees. Premier ER & Urgent Care is hiring an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their Temple, TX location. This role can be either Full or Part Time. The Advanced Practice Provider will be clinically competent while delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Advanced Practice Providers will effectively interact with patients, significant others and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing. This includes but is not limited to patient evaluation and management, patient assessment, therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician, laboratory testing, and patient discharge and education. A minimum of 18 months of experience in an ER/UC setting is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program required.
  • Valid Texas Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Must have BLS certification.
  • Must have a valid DEA license in the state of Texas.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain current Premier credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Minimum of 18 months experience in an ER/UC setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patients and their family with a customer focused friendly, reassuring and open environment that encourages patient participation in health care decisions.
  • Assist in patient care to the extent that training and education allows. This may include duties not usually performed but that are within the scope of practice.
  • Encourage a work environment that is friendly and respectful.
  • Provide effective, efficient and primary care to Premier patients.
  • Provide general treatment, conduct examinations, treat illnesses, order and review lab tests and prescribe medication for children and adults.
  • Conduct follow up calls to patients to discuss patient’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with providers and other multidisciplinary staff.
  • Provide support for staff, patients and family.
  • Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting company philosophies and standards of care.
  • Adhere to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations.
