About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support a busy orthopedic practice. This role is ideal for a candidate passionate about orthopedics and committed to high-quality patient care. The position involves providing unparalleled customer service in the clinic, patient education, and working collaboratively with a dedicated team. The candidate must be flexible to travel to Chicago and Western Suburbs for clinic. New graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Illinois (or ability to obtain)
  • National certification: AANP, ANCC, ONCB or NCCPA
  • BLS certification required.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with existing team.
  • Assist the physician in clinic setting.
  • Assess patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan, and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize practice technology including, but not limited to, electronic health record, dictation, and outcomes tools to their full capability to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by physician.
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate and provides continuity of care.
  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
  • Travel with Physician as required.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
