About The Position
We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive care to patients in an urgent care setting. Responsibilities include performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and injuries, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing minor surgical procedures, prescribing medications, and educating patients on follow-up care. Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is essential. The role requires the ability to triage patients effectively, distinguishing between urgent and emergency cases to ensure efficient patient flow.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and acute pain management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families.
- Proficiency in, or ability to learn, EMR systems.

Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams, take medical histories, and provide treatment for acute illnesses (e.g., infections, rashes) and injuries (e.g., sprains, minor fractures, lacerations).
- Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests (e.g., strep, flu) and X-rays.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, including wound closure, abscess incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
- Prescribe medications, administer vaccinations, and provide patient education on follow-up care.
- Accurately document patient visits, history, and treatment plans in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Triage patients to differentiate between urgent and emergency cases, ensuring efficient patient throughput.
