About The Position

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an onsite position in Misawa, Japan. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary care, serving as a Primary Care Manager (PCM), and maintaining the medical readiness of the patient population. The provider will be responsible for direct patient care, including evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and performing minor surgical procedures. Additionally, the role supports the Air Force mission by overseeing medical readiness, conducting health assessments, managing deployment health, providing operational medical support, participating in medical reviews, and ensuring compliance with Air Force medical standards. Accurate documentation in the MHS GENESIS EHR, teamwork, and mentorship of support staff are also key aspects of this position. Continuing Medical Education (CME) and committee participation may be required.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited academic program.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Certified in the specialty by ANCC, AANP, or recognized national nursing certification organization.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university certified by ARC-PA.
  • Physician Assistant: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Physician Assistant: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Physician Assistant: Current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient clinical setting within the last 5 years.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be a W2 employee hire.
  • Cannot sponsor H1B.

Nice To Haves

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification is preferred.
  • An active security clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive primary care to an assigned patient panel in accordance with DHA-PI 6025.11.
  • Serve as the Primary Care Manager (PCM), ensuring continuity of care, promoting preventative health, and maintaining medical readiness.
  • Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, including history and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and other therapies.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate.
  • Provide women’s health services, including routine gynecological exams and family planning counseling (if within scope of practice).
  • Provide pediatric care, including well-child exams, immunizations, and treatment of common childhood illnesses (if within scope of practice).
  • Address behavioral health concerns and provide referrals to mental health professionals.
  • Coordinate patient care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
  • Support the Air Force mission by maintaining the health and deployability of service members.
  • Monitor and manage Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) metrics.
  • Conduct Preventative Health Assessments (PHAs), pre-deployment screenings, and other readiness evaluations.
  • Diagnose, treat, and follow up on deployment-related conditions and injuries.
  • Provide clinical support during base exercises, contingency operations, and public health emergencies.
  • Contribute to Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs), Physical Evaluation Boards (PEBs), and related administrative processes.
  • Adhere to all Air Force medical standards, clinical protocols, and documentation requirements.
  • Initiate and process all required documentation for medical travel.
  • Maintain knowledge of Air Force physical fitness standards and waiver policies, and counsel members.
  • Serve as a trusted medical advisor to unit commanders.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records in the MHS GENESIS EHR.
  • Document all patient encounters, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks, such as coding and billing documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and peer review.
  • Comply with all applicable Air Force regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical documentation.
  • Mentor medical technicians and other support staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
  • Serve as a resource for other healthcare providers on medical topics.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in clinic performance improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Assist with training and mentoring of medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the COR and/or FRED within the scope of the position's general duties.
